Deep Thinker

Okay, my wife is the best. I think I remember last night or perhaps I was dreaming that she got up and wrote something down for what seemed like forever. I've been sleeping pretty hard lately so I can't tell if I was dreaming or not, but I'm pretty sure she wrote something down for her book.

To be in that kind of sleep to have something come to mind then be able to recall everything and put it to paper is really impressive.

Way to go honey you are a deep thinker.

Ohh Canada

Well, I am almost back to normal. I have returned from the north country, and to say the least it was a blast. I really missed my family, but man I really had a great time while shooting big game.

The scenery was beautiful. It was a great time with my dad. We hunted each and every waking hour, only to find that the hunting was tougher than we had figured. Overall, I shot a blonde bear and a big elk. I couldn't be happier with what I have accomplished.

And I'm Spent

Is it possible to be anymore tired? I have been very tired for the past few days. There is no telling if it is a lack of sleep, which is unlikely, but I think much of it is due to the every day runnin and gunnin that I have been doing. It seems like every day is filled with activities or meetings that encompass life.

I have no idea why it gets this way, but it is what it is.

I don't have a ton of free time, but what I do have I spend it with my family. That is really the best time these days. Jett is doing so many cool these days and Julie is always keeping me on my toes. I still wouldn't change anything though.

Age

So I have hit the big 31. It isn't really that scary, but actually it is very exciting for me. Thus far, during my 30s, I have exceeded any level of fitness that I once possessed. That does include running my first marathon in 4 hours.

I have a great family and great job. Yes sir, life seems to be going swimmingly. I haven't had as many illnesses or body aches, and with any luck if I keep working out it will stay that way.

Age really isn't a restriction any more. I remember hearing that once you reach 30 its downhill, but I think the opposite is true. The older I get the more active I seem to be. Now, that is not counting the night life because we all know the body consumes and stores alcohol much differently. The hangovers are worse with less consumption, but I think that is a good thing.

I have much to do today. Julie an I are going to meet with the pastor of a relatively new church that we've been attending, which is completely amazing. We aren't entirely sold on it yet, but it is very tempting to completely commit to Summit Church.

A Night Dream...Sort Of.

You know the state of sleeping, but you are kind of awake. Well, when you are this state dreams seem more real than ever. Here is the conversation I had when in said state. Mind you, I had this conversation with my beautiful wife.

KJ (sits up in bed in a panic)
JJ: What is it?
KJ: I just dreamed that Jett was laying in bed with us and he peed on me. (This really seemed like it just happened)
JJ (laughter)
KJ: And obviously he did not pee on me.
JJ (more laughter)

At this point I laid back down and went to sleep. The next morning I woke thinking, well, maybe I peed the bed. Luckily, I did not pee the bed, but I seriously thought Jett had peed on me.

This is only one of the crazy dreams I've had during this stage of sleep. I once had one where spiders where hanging of the ceiling fan and closing in quickly - imagine how fast I sprung up from bed that time. But, the best is when I told the cat to get away from the window because the Yotes were going to crash through the window to get her.

My dreams, my life = crazy!

Google Yourself

Okay, this wasn't the greatest way to find what people see when you google your own name. I guess it is out of curiosity that I want to know what comes up if someone types in Kevin Jarnagin. Who knows, maybe an old friend is trying to find me or perhaps a client wants to find out what they are dealing with.

Some dude is ruining my name. I go on there and type in my name only to find the first page filled with this young punk that killed a 7-month old kid. Okay, instant death penalty for that one, but he ruined my name completely. Here I am giving it a good go in this world all to have it squashed by some loser that doesn't deserve to breathe.

What an eye opener though. Can you imagine all the people in my small town of Oklahoma that are thinking about how bad this Kevin Jarnagin guy turned out? Not to mention any friends that are saying I'm glad I lost touch with that dude.

Don't ruin your name. Lesson not learned by the impostor Kevin Jarnagin.

I swear, I am the good one.

Vegas Walkin

Last week I spent a few days in blistering hot Las Vegas. I stepped in my hotel room at New York, New York at about 3 o'clock in the afternoon and quickly decided it was a great time to run the strip. With running up and down stairs I traversed the strip in its entirety - with no water. This is possibly the dumbest thing you could do in 110 degree weather. I mean are you kidding me? I should know better, but I didn't listen to my body and it bit me in the end.

I really felt ill the rest of the trip. Something just didn't seem right with my body. But, knowing me like you two do, I woke up at 5:00 and ran the same trip. All-in-all each run was about 6.5 miles of running. You know, now that I think about it, I didn't see any other idiots running in the afternoon.

So, I did my fair share of exercising while in Vegas, and I didn't gamble all that much. It was mostly one night for about two hours then I was finished. I spent quite a bit of my time just walking around the strip looking at stuff to buy. I bought Jett a Yankees cap just like mine, yet when I showed it to him it was like I fed him a carrot. He despises those things, and apparently the Yankees hat.

I did have a chance to do a coney crawl to compare which hot dog is better, Nathan's or Pink's. The winner? Neither lit me up with zeal, but overall I think Pink's won out for there super sized dogs, paired with the pint-sized buns. Way to go Pink's on winning the dog crawl of Las Vegas.
