Father's Day was a great event. Julie let me sleep in a bit, and got me the perfect card. She also got me a iTunes gift card, which is being used up quickly.
Father's Day, not to be equal to Mother's Day, is really a day that has been lost to me until becoming a dad. It is a day that I was able to reflect on my role as a father, and how instrumental my dad was in shaping me to become that dad.
It truly is a pleasure to know that my dad was there for me. He disciplined me religiously and set m straight when straightening was necessary - all to often. I can only hope that I become the same kind of man my Father and grandfathers were.
However, Father's Day should also be a reflection of the women that put up with dads. I understand the ladies have their own day, but they should be celebrated more often than that. Julie puts up with alot and she to has set me straight a time or two. She keeps me in line and makes me want to be the man she deserves and the father to Jett that she expects.
Thanks babe for a great day.
I am just a regular outdoor PR dude with tremendous hair. Life has turned out pretty spectacular. When you have a wife and son like mine life just seems to get better each day. They are the light in a dark room, and the standard which all others things compared fall short. Julie, is an accomplished mom and author. Jett, well, is a typical four year old with tremendous hair. The outdoors is where I find my peace. This blog should reflect that.

Pity Post
It has been a while since I've updated so I am posting out of pity for you guys that love to read my blogs - both of you.
I'm finding it hard to come up with a training plan to focus my attention. I've got a race in November and I don't know what I want out of it. Same goes for my training. I want to stay fit and able to run at least a half-marathon at the drop of a hat, and I want to run it good.
My knee is giving me some fits still, which complicates the entire training program, if I had one.
It looks like my travel schedule keeps mounting. There is a possibility of me jetting off to Mexico in a few weeks. Now that is what I'm talking about. The only bad thing about it is my family won't be with me. It is a work trip.
That is all that is going on at this point. I'll keep you posted on upcoming events an thoughts that roam through the mind.

9 Years
Nine years ago I married my unbelievably talented wife. I honestly can't believe that it has been 9 years. It has flown by, and I look forward to the next 9 years of marriage with Julie. She has taught me so much about life and myself that I never knew existed.
She is a true inspiration to my family and is a great example our son. He is blessed to have a mom as great as her.
If I had to pick one definitive truth she has taught me is that sometimes you have to let a dream go for it to come around full circle. Julie gave up her dream of writing about a year and a half ago because she felt that God didn't want her pursuing it at the time. Little did she or I know that he would work to bring her back around to writing and becoming a published author. She never gave up on her dreams, and I will never give up on the girl from Hollis, Oklahoma.
Thank you Julie for tolerating my shortcomings and supporting my silly whims that often lead to a life lesson.
P.S. You're Hot babe.
